Your first coding session

The workspace brings the agent, files, terminal, and changes together.

Give a concrete task

Describe the result, relevant files, and constraints. For example: “Add an empty state to the search results. Follow the existing typography, keep keyboard navigation, and test both empty and populated results.”

Choose how the agent works

Check the session's permission settings. Depending on that configuration, a tool action may run automatically or wait for approval. Read approval requests before allowing file edits or commands.

Review and refine

  1. Read the agent's result and any test failures.
  2. Inspect the changed files and diff.
  3. Ask for a focused correction if behavior or appearance is wrong.
  4. Run the checks that matter for the change.

Use the terminal

Run project commands in the terminal and inspect their output. A successful command is useful evidence for that check; it does not prove every feature works.

Delegate a larger task

When using multiple agents, give each a distinct responsibility and review the combined result. Keep dependent changes coordinated to avoid conflicting edits.
